CABA hosts second session of its leadership training program
The Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) recently held its second L.E.A.D. program session at the Miami offices of Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton.
The Leadership, Education, And, Development (L.E.A.D.) program is designed to provide CABA fellows with the knowledge, skills and tools to be effective leaders within CABA, The Florida Bar, and their communities. The multi-day sessions are designed to assist the diverse and inclusive group of lawyers in becoming better leaders within the legal profession.
“We were pleased to provide this interactive session where an exchange of knowledge and ideas produced lively discussions on topics relevant to the attendees,” said CABA President Javier Ley-Soto. “Our hope is that what was presented will equip our fellows to be leaders in the profession.”
The second program session, “Communication in The Legal Profession,” was made possible by the support of Kozyak Tropin & Throckmorton. Guest speakers included Judge Paul C. Huck; Judge Corali Lopez-Castro; Dwayne A. Robinson; and CABA past Presidents Jose “Pepe” Villalobos, Maria D. Garcia, Eugenio Hernandez, and Sandra Ferrera.
Other speakers included Gustavo J. Ceballos, CABA L.E.A.D. co-chair and director; Robert Fernandez, managing partner at RHF Law Firm; Robert Pardo, former assistant state attorney, and attorney at Robert R. Pardo P.A.; Hayden O’Byrne, assistant U.S. attorney at United States Attorney’s Office, Southern District of Florida; and Scott Dimond, partner at Dimond Kaplan & Rothstein.
The curriculum included presentations on the art of public speaking and women leaders in law and the path to partnership.
