Formerly incarcerated individuals can get a second chance on finding a new career

Formerly incarcerated individuals can find employment opportunities, support services and more at the 305 Second Chance Job & Resource Expo. This free event is taking place from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the Main Library in Downtown Miami. More than 50 employers and providers will be in attendance. Be sure to bring copies of your résumé.

Numerous resources will be available, including:

  • Job opportunities with government and private sector employers
  • Educational and vocational training information
  • Voter rights restoration
  • Sealing and expungement
  • Identification and documentation recovery
  • Housing and basic needs assistance
  • Health and wellness resources
  • Tax preparation
  • Family assistance and youth programs

Transit riders can take Metrorail or Metromover to the Government Center station and walk to the Main Library. Metrobus stops north of the Main Library in front of the Stephen P. Clark Center.

Discounted parking is available with ticket validation at the Miami-Dade Cultural Center Garage at 50 NW 2nd Avenue. The garage opens at 9:30 a.m.

No registration required, and all Miami-Dade County job seekers are welcome.
