WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The City of West Palm Beach is hosting special programs throughout the month of May to celebrate all things geek with the May the Fandom Be With You initiative at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach (411 Clematis St.).

 

Unless otherwise noted, no registration is required, and library programs are made possible from the generous support of the West Palm Beach Library Foundation.

 

MAY HIGHLIGHTS (FANDOM PROGRAMS): Throughout the month of May, the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach is happy to bring back May the Fandom Be with You, an all-ages Comic Con-style celebration of all things geek! Fans of anything from “Star Wars,” “Doctor Who,” and tabletop gaming to comics and more can enjoy lectures, cosplay, and pin trading in person with fellow fans! Families with children from birth through age 18 can get free one-on-one case management, therapeutic support, and advocacy for life’s most difficult challenges. The Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County generally holds two Community ID drives per month at the library. The Community ID of the Palm Beaches Identification Card is available to all residents of Palm Beach County and provides a reliable form of ID useful for law enforcement, health centers, schools, businesses, and more. The Mandel Public Library is partnering with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to offer its Lois’ Food4Kids initiative. Lois’ Food4Kids gives each child ages 5-12 one bag of food that includes two drinks, two breakfasts, two lunches, two snacks, and one family dinner. The free program is designed to help fill nutritional gaps that children face on weekends throughout the year.
