City of West Palm Beach Receives Several Awards for Safety and Recognition for Heroism

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The City of West Palm Beach is proud to announce its outstanding achievements in worker safety, vehicle safety, and the exceptional efforts of six of its dedicated employees. The Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. has honored the City with the prestigious Award of Merit for Worker Safety, the Award of Merit for Vehicle Safety, special recognition for the Rolled Out Near-Miss Program, and the Heroism Award, which was bestowed upon Marc Miller, Brandon Joe, Max Rogers, Rojay Johnson, Kyle Burrell, and Charles Barker. These accolades were presented during the Safety Council’s 26th Annual Safety Awards Luncheon & auction on April 13 at the West Palm Beach Marriott.

The Award of Merit for Worker Safety is a testament to the City of West Palm Beach’s unwavering commitment to providing a safe working environment for its employees. This recognition reflects the City’s comprehensive safety protocols and continuous efforts to foster a culture of safety awareness and best practices across all departments.

The Award of Merit for Vehicle Safety highlights the City of West Palm Beach’s dedication to ensuring the safety of its fleet and drivers. Through rigorous training programs, regular vehicle inspections, and the implementation of cutting-edge safety technologies, the City has demonstrated its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of road safety.

The special recognition for the Rolled Out Near-Miss Program acknowledges the City’s proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and preventing accidents. This innovative program encourages employees to report near-miss incidents, enabling the City to investigate and take preventive measures to enhance overall safety.

Furthermore, the Heroism Award bestowed upon six public utility employees Marc Miller, Brandon Joe, Max Rogers, Rojay Johnson, Kyle Burrell, and Charles Barker for saving a life highlights their exceptional courage and selflessness. Their extraordinary acts of heroism exemplify the dedication and bravery displayed by the City of West Palm Beach’s employees, who go above and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
