JAMAICA WINS BIG AT 19TH ANNUAL WORLD
 TRAVEL AWARDS GALA

KINGSTON, JAMAICA – September 17, 2012 Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch (right) accepts the Caribbean’s Leading Destination award from Graham E. Cooke, President & Founder, WTA during the 2012 World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas Gala held at Beaches Turks and Caicos on September 14, 2012. Jamaica was declared the leading Caribbean destination for the seventh consecutive year. The Tourism Director, who was among a packed delegation of VIPs, senior tourism figures and international media, also accepted the coveted Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board award, which the Jamaica Tourist Board won for the sixth consecutive year at the prestigious travel industry Oscars.
 


US VIRGIN ISLANDS WELCOMES ROYAL CARIBBEAN'S INCREASED ARRIVALS

 

US VIRGIN ISLANDS (May 21, 2012) - The US Virgin Islands has welcomed the unveiling of Royal Caribbean International's new Caribbean itineraries which include two additional ships regularly calling on the Virgin Islands.

 

USVI Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr. said Royal Caribbean's new 2013-2014 deployment calendar demonstrates the cruise line's continued commitment to the Virgin Islands, and to the re-emergence of St. Croix as a port-of-call.

During the four-day JTB sponsored press trip, journalists were given a cultural treat in Kingston visiting Devon House, experiencing live reggae music at Hope Gardens and top class athletics at the JN Jamaica International Invitational. JAMAICA CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE
AT THE NEW YORK TIMES TRAVEL SHOW

NEW YORK – March 12, 2012 – JAMAICA CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE AT THE NEW YORK TIMES TRAVEL SHOW The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) had a colorful and vibrant presence at this year’s The New York Times Travel Show, held at the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center. In celebration of the island’s 50th Anniversary of Independence, the JTB offered a number of prize trip giveaways, a sampling of Jamaican cuisine courtesy of Golden Krust Caribbean Bakery, caricature drawings by artist Michael Escoffery, and a Usain Bolt interactive game. Consumers at the JTB’s booth entered to win one of four prize trips to Half Moon, A RockResort; Holiday Inn Sunspree, Sunset Resorts and Jakes Hotel, Villas & Spa. Category one hurricane causes only minor cosmetic damages to these favorite Turks & Caicos resorts
