VMBS Hosts 2nd Annual Community Fora
September 23, 2012 -
Jamaica’s recent celebrations of the nation’s 50th
anniversary highlighted various accomplishments, as well as the need
for a sustained thrust towards even greater achievements in the
future, aimed at a shared vision for a better Jamaica...The Place of
Choice to live, work, raise your families and do business by 2030.
It is against this backdrop, that the Victoria Mutual Building
Society (VMBS) - Florida Representative Office will be hosting its
second annual Community Fora, under the theme: Our
Journey...Jamaica’s Next 50!
Jamaica’s Minister of National Security, the Honourable Peter Bunting, M.P., will lead talks on ‘Jamaica’s Strategic Crime Management Initiatives’, while Mr Leary Mullings - Partner, Crichton Mullings & Associates will focus on ‘Understanding FATCA and the IRS Reporting Standards for Jamaica’. Mr. Allan Lewis, Senior Vice-President, Group Strategy, VMBS said ‘at Victoria Mutual, we see the financial security of our Members and Customers as our primary focus and our strategic thrust is to ensure that our Members and Customers are satisfied about our services and product offerings. Mr. Lewis further stated that the desire to be financially secure is timeless and universal and since inception over 133 years ago Victoria Mutual has demonstrated that being a Member of the VMBS family, improves one’s ability to achieve financial independence.
According to Suzette Rochester, Manager, Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) - Florida Representative Office “Jamaicans in overseas communities still have a vested interest in the country, as was highlighted by the recent London Olympics and the fervour with which we undertook our Jamaica 50 celebrations. As this forum has done in the past, it will bring together a cross-section of viewpoints, in a setting tailored to facilitate the effective exchange of ideas and information, and establishing relevant goals and action plans. We encourage everyone in the community to attend and participate, as we all have a shared vision for a better Jamaica, which can only be realized through linkages between government, corporate entities as well as our citizens.” Rochester also articulated that the Representative Office is located at 21461 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami Gardens and operates with a mandate to promote the Society's savings and mortgage investments to those members of the Diaspora wishing to create or increase their financial well-being.
The Community Fora are Free of Charge to the Diaspora and interested persons are encouraged to contact the VMBS Florida Representative Office at 1-877-770-8627 or VMBS TeleCare at 1-866-967-8627, or email email@example.com for additional information.
