The Caribbean Americas Soccer Association (CASA) is offering
of Lauderhill Youth Soccer Classic event for the 2011 Fall Soccer
Season. CASA is a non- profit organization based in Lauderhill,
Florida, and its primary mission is to link South Florida's soccer to
the rest of the world by developing all aspects of the sport, including
children's talent, and exposing the community to the highest level of
the game. CASA has launched its soccer and scouting program as an
outreach to youths, coaches/scouts and families with a view of teaching
children life-long values of sportsmanship, provide exciting
competition, and at the same time exposing and affording boys the
ability to showcase their skills and talents.

made its return to Miami International. The four times weekly
service, will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and

Little Haiti Optimist Club and Chef Creole
Restaurants’ Toy Drive & Holiday Celebration
Toys to be distributed to children in the community and orphans
December 12, 2011, Miami
- Now through December 16th, the five Chef Creole
restaurants will serve as drop off locations for the 2nd
annual Little Haiti Optimist Club & Chef Creole Toy Drive. The
toys collected will be distributed to kids in the community on
Saturday, December 17th from 3:00PM until 7:00PM at
the 2nd annual Holiday Celebration event at the Chef
Creole Restaurant located at 200 NW 54th Street in
Miami. In addition, some of the toys collected will also be
distributed to orphans and children living in Haiti.
COUNCILMAN DAVID WILLIAMS JR. SPONSORS 2011 MIAMI GARDENS ELEMENTARY
SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR
City of Miami Gardens Councilman David Williams Jr. will host the Miami
Gardens Elementary Science and Engineering Fair on Monday, December 12,
2011, in the Science Department at St. Thomas University located at
16401 NW 37th Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33054. The exhibits will be on
display from 8am -4pm.
Over 100 students from public, private and charter schools in Miami
Gardens will participate for cash prizes from $250 - $500 for the most
unique project. In addition, St. Thomas University will also choose a
winner for the Dr. Wimsteelant Science Award in the amount of $250.
The Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration December 9th

Friday, December 9th, 2011, Mayor Tomas Regalado, along with
City Commissioner, City Manager, employees and many children from our
area, will celebrate the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Miami City
Hall, from 6pm – 9pm. The event is free and open to the
public with food, refreshments and entertainment.
The celebration will
feature a parade with Miami Northwestern Senior High School Band and
Miami Senior High School Million Dollar Band, the City of Miami Police
and Fire Departments and the Coca Cola Vintage Truck. The Star Spangled
Banner will be performed by Riverside Elementary students, Lisbeth
Chavarria and Ashley Encarcion. There will be holiday performances by
the Riverside Elementary Angels Choir, the Coral Way K-8 Center, Coconut
Grove Cares, Inc. and the Sun Flower Academy. Among those announcing
their presence at the event, Miami Marlins baseball player Logan
City of Lauderhill Food
and Toy Drive to Assist Residents in Need.
Lauderhill Fire-Rescue, Police, and Parks and Leisure Services
Departments have joined together to help our residents in need
during the Holiday Season. We are currently collecting food and toys if
you are interested in assisting those in need.
We are currently accepting new / unwrapped toys and non-perishable food
items as well as cash donations. Checks can be made payable to
"Lauderhill We Care Fund."

children in Broward County’s youth welfare system. This year we’ll be
working with Plantation-based non-profit ChildNet (www.childnet.us)
Your gifts will help spread some holiday cheer to many deserving
children and teens aged 0 to 18 years old.

Michael Baisden Show and The National CARES Mentoring
Movement have issued a national challenge to encourage
adults to become more engaged in the community as mentors.
The National Mentoring Training Day will officially launch
during the 100’s annual Chapter Summit in South Florida on
December 12th beginning at 1 p.m. at Antioch Missionary
Baptist Church of Carol City. Participating local
faith-based partners include: New Birth Baptist Cathedral of
Faith Intl., Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church, Antioch
Missionary Baptist Church and other national community
partners will also be in attendance. This event is free and
